I'm still new here, gut me if you like Who, Me?.  The game is The Great White Destroyer, a sidescrolling 2D arcade eat'em up.  You play a shark who finds himself the focus of Carhtoothus, the mighty shark GOD!  Simple mouse controls, lmb=slow, rmb=medium, both mb=fast.  You stroll around eating and destroying for his pleasure, fullfill his mad cravings for bonus points and powerups!  BLOOD FRENZY!  Hey, send your highscore through the internets to my pathetic highscores table while you're at it Tongue.

Ok, now that's all out of the way, any feedback is welcome.  I hope you enjoy it.

ALSO, expect it to normally take a minute or two to load, I have had a few people report it taking 8 min and the sound/backgrounds are missing.  The affected OS seems to be random, something to do with GameMaker's sound_replace and background_replace just not working.   Shrug

I gotta say, I love the art style. Fan-fucking-tastic work on it.

The game itself is decent. Not mind-blowing, but certainly fun!

Thanks much.  When I sat down to come up with this thing those years ago, just wanted something simple and action oriented that would fuel some laughter/enjoyment and could be played in short bursts.  For the aged gamer!  Hand Thumbs Up Left Ninja Hand Thumbs Up Right

Just bought this game with its half-off price for Shark Month!

The one thing that stands out to me most in this game is the style. Everything feels quirky and cohesive which is aided by the simple, fun gameplay.

The Shark is so easy to move around yet the fact that you can only eat things at certain speeds makes all three speeds necessary and easy to switch between.

I was just watching Shark Week this year on Great Whites and it talked about how they always do not want to lose teeth. To prevent a struggle in their mouth, they'll swim hard into a prey and chomp then release and come back to finish it off. I found it amazing that this is exactly what you do in your game which makes you feel like a real shark playing hit and run with multiple targets and then finishing them all off as well.

Also as Dragonmaw pointed out, the graphics are very well done, but there are many more stylistic choices that make the game feel more complete and cohesive. The sound effects for dialogue is funny and well-done. The sound in general matches the game and does not detract from the experience. The story is quaint and funny and works well for this type of game. The story is what keeps you playing through the levels so you can see what becomes of your man-eating shark. This added to the addictive gameplay makes it hard to step away from the game (which I've had to do 3 times now due to work and sleep requirements)

I haven't beaten the game yet, so I can't say much about re-playability or if I will have desire to reach for a high score, but it is cool that you can upload them online. I had been looking to get this game for a while when I first saw screens back in the spring, but now I am glad I did as it is a fun game and gave me some ideas for future projects =)

Also, I love sharks. Which may make my short review post a little bias!
