Hilarity Dear Journal,
I feel average today, nothing new, good, or bad. The only thing that happed is my grandmother came to my house. There is nothing that special about that, my time's up. Tragedy Dear Journal,
I feel happy and sad today because I finally got to level 71 [in Populus] and I left to get something while it was on pause, and when I came back my little sister had turned it off and was playing Super Mario World.
And True Love Dear Journal,
I made a red airship out of my Lego blocks. It's name is "The Falchon". It has room for the pilot crew and pessengers. It is about 17 inches long and 12 inches high. It is also 6 inches wide. PAUL ERES: The Movie Coming soon to an Internets near you.

those were written for school so i figured i'd vary it up by writing about different people each time if the school was stupid enough to ask me to write a journal entry twice who my favorite person is
besides, why can't we have two favorites

That's not what i'd call cool, also: I'd like to see the Superjoe commentary on the eres diary
Well cool was probably the incorrect word to use. I meant it in the vaguely positive sense rather than the social well adjusted sense. I'm at my best when I'm writing a book. I have written many books. I started writing when I was 5, when I wrote a book about monster coming from monster world and they all turned into a gaint monster almost as big as the Earth. That book was relitively small, only 70 pages, also some pages were only a picture and a few words. I've written 8 book all together, and soon I will start to write another. Have you typed up any of your books, Paul?

yes: check out 1986 and 1987 (i think). some of them were lost forever, and most weren't actually 'books' so much as a notebook full of pages of drawings and a sentence on each page, but i typed up at least 2 or 3 if i remember. a good majority of them were lost, or are currently in my father's possession somewhere. i probably should scan them instead because the images were pretty good. most of them were 'leeroy and the monsters' series of books; i wrote about 13 of those, starting in kindergarden.

Woah you had a whole different class for gifted kids? All I got was like a 20 minute pull out every couple months.

yeah, but for the entire school system, for grades 5 on up. the way it worked is that all people in paterson who were chosen for it (i don't even know how they did it, maybe an iq test) had to go to this one school instead of the closest school to them. i never really noticed any difference between it and normal classes though. the schoolwork was identical as far as i could see.

'Round these parts, we don't have classes for gifted kids, we let them skip grades. There were only like 2 people in my entire school who ever skipped a grade though, I don't even know what the requirements are.

In my case all you have to do is not do any homework and never get more than 60% on anything. I only had 20 minute "enrichment" sessions in elementary. http://rinku.livejournal.com/1995/02/25/This is honestly the most interesting thing I've read all year.

i was a lot more productive when i was younger, i made comic books, board games, and constructed my own toys. i guess i was a lot happier as a kid, and spending a good chunk of childhood in a cabin distanced from society must have helped. my 'gifted' class in elementary school amounted to our teacher asking us what we wanted to learn about and then giving us the tools to do so -- i guess that' why i latched onto homeschooling later on.
those journal entries are interesting, i third the 'young eres' compo
