Main post edited. New things to come to this game: -New equipment slots: Hat, Top, Gloves, Skirt, and Tights. Each offer defense points to your character. -Co-Op Multiplayer is now an idea in the making. Complete the game with a friend, offline, so you'll need at least 1 game pad. No idea who you play as though. -Dungeon floors are going to be randomly generated now. Simple generation process though. It will lead to a lot of fun in my opinion. I'm waiting on a moderator to allow me to sell my game as an alpha for 70% off at indievania so I can get some needed funds to pay for musician, a visual novel artist (still not sure if i'm going to do it or hire someone), and voice actors and actress's for the characters. Also I coded the health system. It works perfectly. I feel like I've hit the 20% mark. I'm happy with the steady flow of development.

I guess if there was a small chance I don't finish it, you could email me and I'd refund it.

Today's development process: -Worked on stats a bit -Added a fun sound when you pick up money. -Drew more costume concept art but I hate how young Nisa looks in it, so it will have to be redone.

go away mr monster go away
Also took away the buy alpha thing.
I don't need funding yet since I'm not building those features yet. I feel dirty when I think of selling a game this early in alpha. Rather keep it to posting around on a blog until I have more content.

I'd suggest getting most of the mechanics and gameplay in place first. Professional art and music can come late in the design of the game without too much trouble. If you have a fun game with terrible programmer art you might even convince some guys to jump in at the end for a small or non-existent fee once they're confident that game will definitely be completed and will definitely be at least decent.
That, or look for people you know personally who might contribute voice acting and art as a favor for a friend. If you ask around at school or on other forums you might frequent you might be surprised who you know (six degrees).

Todays development: I'm super proud of what I created today. Since the tower you're climbing is a human experiment facility, each boss you fight is a loli-type boss that isn't exactly human. The first stages boss has been completed. Shes pretty much a slime + human. The boss fight is 100% functional, it just needs art, but art comes last. Anyways how she works is she stands on a tall pillar, and is being sucked up by a machine, and those parts are turned into slime monsters that come through the red doors. You have to shoot the pillar so it breaks, then you can damage her. Eventually the pillar repairs and you have to repeat until she dies. Thats all I got done today. It was a lot of fun. I'm happy with it. Also. The main post has a little development list that links to each of these daily articles.

Is that a in-game screenshot or a mockup?

Are those graphics for if you want to find a certain type of artist? Not sure if I like the style.. Feels more like a rough sketch to me but I'd have to play the game to see if that works..

Todays development: -More costume design -Hackish fix to a bug I was having. I will be refixing it, but I needed to fix it somehow for the alpha release.
Thats all for today. I'm tired.
Also.
Should I go back to small pixel art or keep it with the hand drawn art?

The game will have a lot of humor in its story if that is what you mean. Binding of Kawaiisaac? Yes please.
Hehehe.
