Well Hello There!
I thought I’d introduce you lovely folk to the game I’ve been working solo on for ~18months now:
Hokko Life!Hokko Life is a cozy community-sim, town building game that centers on player created content. You arrive in a small countryside village and it’s your task to build homes, decorate the town and help out the townsfolk that come by. By improving the town more and more, visiting villagers will start to move in; each with their own tastes, eager for you to decorate their new homes!
But wait, what was that thing about “player created content”? Well, at the heart of the game there are two tools that let you create your own furniture, wallpaper and clothing designs. After gathering resources in the world and crafting materials from them, you are then able to make your own custom designed furniture and other items. It’s this furniture that you use to decorate the town exactly as your heart desires and make it truly your town.
But this is a devlog post! How’s the dev going?Things are going well! I reckon I’m around 70-80% done with the game now (and as you all know, the last 20% takes around 90% of the time, right?!) All the systems are in, the game is relatively stable and I’m busy ploughing on with adding content, tidying things up and making sure it’s actually fun to play!
I thought I’d share with you a few images of how things are looking right now; and I’ll be returning to this post to update you as I go with anything new and exciting as it gets added! If you’re interested in how things have been going prior to this post, do check out the devlog on my site:
