Those are pretty nice. One thing that could help if you're having trouble with figures is sitting on posemaniacs.com for a few hours drawing polygonal people, limiting yourself to 5 minutes per pose and then hitting random. |

My portfolio to see if I get into the university's animation department is due this Friday. One of the things I'm really worried about is the figure drawing section. I've got to narrow it down to my best 5 to 10 drawings, and I don't even have 5 that I'd even admit to thinking that they were good. So far, I think I've narrowed it down to around 14 that I think might be around "good enough."  These are pretty great imho.   Your really loose and sketchy ones are the best. |

Uh, awesome stuff everyone. I'm almost intimidated to post here, as I'm mainly a programmer. But I do love to draw and yesterday I followed Niklas' excelent tutorials (he's probably well known around here) to learn how to paint digitally better. I wanted to do a speedpaint to go with an essay I wrote about the creative foundations I base my game designs on.  This is dedicated to my favorite imaginative, creative and truthful games: Theme Park, Sim City, Transport Tycoon, Rollercoaster Tycoon, The Sims, Shadow of the Colossus, Wakeboarding Unleashed and Skate, to name just those that are part of this illustration. I also recorded a timelapse: |

Thanks (you too, HD)! Yeah, I think that'll be just me, dreaming my younger self, when I actually took the time to play games. OK, I was 'forced', being a reviewer at the time, but at least the good games made it worth it. But I'll save the philosophy for the video blog starting up somewhere around here soon. |
