Made in Java with LWJGL


Just a bit of an impression of gameplay thus far

Hi everyone - I started this the other day just to see if I could make this sort of a game and well, here's a timeline of production with the topmost picture being the latest:

Zoom is now smooth and awesome :D


The startport now allows you to refuel by using loose rock with refineries (my ship is basically entirely made of refineries so my success rate is over 100% xD)


Player data is now autosaved and can be continued from the menu, also scanner modules can be bought to show the direction of the nearest starport


Engine effect colour can be changed with red, green and blue particulate


Starports now sell things and the cargo bay bugs are fixed


Forgot to get a screenshot in of the scanning zoom-level


Added starports


Rare minerals can be mined from asteroids now and used to upgrade the ship


As soon as I was able to edit ships I immediately drew smiley faces on them


That was me trying to get the mining beam to work correctly


First test of manipulating objects from the ship


Trying to get the parallax stars to work past the origin


Preliminary tests ensuring rotation, randomization and generated textures were working



This game seems to have picked up speed fast and I have loads of plans for it, so stay tuned; there's more to come yet. Wink

Added realistic physics/gravity (things now orbit and bump into eachother) and some more new things: :D
