I agree about the background layer being too bright. It's actually temporary so I can update it before I send out any updates

Really cool stuff you've got there, i can't wait to see more And hey i've tested the alpha build and i think i'm probably really dumb, i couldn't get past the first hole, i can't jump that far well, maybe it was just as far as i could go

The gaps are all probably about 1 tile too big

This week is all about spaaaaccceeeeeee. So I started off by FINALLY doing a ship graphic. I got tired of looking at the crewmen floating around in space boxes. here it is in game: **edit Here's the original sketch I did some time ago. There's a reason I do pixel art and not real life art! Here's a video along with some crewman AI

So I did a time lapse of adding special effects to the game if anyone's interested. It came out really well I think!
Shows about 2 hours of work in about 3 minutes

Worked on the starship's inventory today: it'll be about a week before it's in game, then probably another 2 weeks before it has full functionality but getting through the hurdle of just MAKING the darn thing is a big step! Alas, such is the trials and tribulations of a one man show!

I too love the octopus. I've gotten more comments about him than anything else! On that note, the crewmen now go from station to station depending on what they went. They aren't "locked" to anything unless commanded. Here's a timelapse/youtube video of making the inventory screen too! 3.5 hours of pixel art condensed to 4 minutes!

New enemy type - shoot guy! I laid a lot of framework this weekend for future AI improvements. Every time I create a new enemy "type" it really just makes future enemy types more fun. It's more than just coded AI - you can adjust it's reload speed, if it walks and shoots, how close to the player it has to be to "see" it... Like I said future enemies benefit from this since its already coded in.

Here's a new video for everyone CURRENT PROGRESS - planet exploration. By the way, I'm hoping to upload a build of this tonight. It's really easy to test planet exploration part right now so I'd like to let people play it right away
