Cool looks like heat signature. [/quote] Heat signature is definitely one of the main inspirations to how the nebulae look The game itself will play out more like FTL where you actually control the captain though.

woah it's seiklus 2!! The game is definitely heavily inspired by seiklus! The overarching story + characters are quite a bit different, though...

trying to familiarize myself with unity, messing with shaders and rendering and trying to develop on a visual style i had in my head for a while still really rough but i want to implement color palettes (and possibly outlines if i can figure out a way to do that consistently) soon.

@McMutton - Super fresh! Are you planning to have the weapon spin in her hand for those little twirls she does?
@Sajextryus - Really nice, interesting look. Not sure what I'm looking at, though, haha.

Tried to make some water for my game. Good enough for now. Also experimented with documenting the progress made resulting in this gif.

still wrapping my mind around unity and doing some unholy low-res shader experiments. also a cheap rough shot at modeling since i haven't touched maya or anything since i learned it for school a year ago. nothing special quite yet but i'm roughly recreating some concepts and might try adding more visual flare when i get back to it still need to mess with color dithering and figuring out an outlining mechanism that keeps consistent line thicknesses around the outermost edges of an object. then of course i'll have to try some game design mechanics with the shaders and see what compliments each other well, but for now it's just fun experiments. edit: another experiment pffft

It's a real time effect. (two scrolling normal maps with fake refraction, depth based coloring, specular highlights etc.)

DS?
im working on all sorts of crap for Fez. and...somthing...else!
oh and gamma, too.
*something I dont have any screenshots cause im redoing the sprites etc. but its a game with an earthbound battle rpg system and a legend of zelda a link to the past real time sword swingin' combat. I still don't know how to shorten this.

(removing the ball swirling sprite effect in the middle) and changing it up a bit. but that would be nice cause im lazy
