hey guys,
i would like to show you a new puzzle game created by a young russian guy
and my friend ezorich - experimental box.

here's the game's page

the goal of each level is to collect all the formulas in order to
open the final portal. you teleportate your box by clicking, but you have
to avoid the gravitational holes. the game features simple mechanics,
really nice graphics and ambient soundtrack by Jaime Heras.
ezorich also promised to release lite version of the game suitable for
lowpowered netbooks. i was testing the beta version of the lite and it
works fine and even pertains the smooth look.

so if you're interested head over download page.

we would really love to get feedback from you. CC is very welcome.
hope you like it.

note: you'd better update your directx installation. /bison OF COURSE!

Geek that I am I got attracted to this one by the presence of mathematic formulas. Sure enough, just like when dealing with calculus, half of the time while playing this game I didn't have a clue to what I was doing. Later on, I kinda got hang on to box movements. Got stuck pretty quickly tho, and managed to get only to first two formulas. The only ones that popped in my field of view anyhow.

Might be that the first level is kinda not intuitive enough, or that I'm really dumb and missed something obvious.

Couldn't grok what the yellow boxes are for. Still kinda I clicked on. This begs to be a Flash game since it's nice time waster of sorts. It would reach more people that way, without a need for DL. Kinda better option for casual clicatives on office computers, where you don't wanna leave any odd .exe scattered around.

Graphics, sfx and music are top notch.

I'd like to see maths somehow more tightly integrated in the gameplay. Like order in which formulas need to be collected and such. (or is it already there and I missed it).

A bit better tutorial would help for people dumb but impatient like myself.

thanks a lot, Stane, for reply. the game is really an experiment of the beginning game designer. some nuances like not being able to scroll the level and often jumping to uncertainty and really random holes spawning the author positions as the game being hardcore.
i have to agree that the game could be more attractive with better introduction of itself in the beginning.
anyway, thanks again. i'll make sure you words get to him.

Damn my laptop can't handle it.  I'll have to try this at work tomorrow, though : )

I don't like being thrown back to the start of a level whenever I hit a white hole Sad

Having to start over multiple times just made me felt frustrated. It's a bit of a chore to go through areas I've already been. Maybe each time you find an equation it acts as a sort of checkpoint you return to instead of the beginning? Would help alleviate the mass feeling of boredom I feel when returning all the way to the start of a level.

Other than that I like it so far, the music and graphics are top notch.
