Hey all.  I'm trying to get feedback on how well the basic game engine is doing for my Shmup.  Right now, it's a very short demo where you'll get lots of bullets sprayed and then nothing.  I have a few temp sound effects and stuck in Solar Man's theme for shiggles.  Obviously will not be using that in the final.

This is for Windows only right now.

What I'm looking for reports on:
-If speed seems to stay consistent (along with FPS)
-Any CPU spikes or if general CPU use seems very significant

Game keys:
Z to shoot
Shift to move slower

The demo:  http://sivak.nintendoage.com/Shmuppy.zip

Thanks!

Runs fine for me, no spikes.

Stable 60FPS. No spikes, everything is very smooth.

Mine dipped  down to 55FPS (I have a single core), but it was still wonderfully smooth.

Thanks for the reports everyone.  It's looking like this may be the way to go.

Mine dipped  down to 55FPS (I have a single core), but it was still wonderfully smooth.

Just curious - was this only during the phases of enemies shooting or all around?  I don't intend for the screen to be THAT covered in the real deal, just wanted to do a stress test.  Thanks!

I have a 7600GT nVidia GPU and a 6000X2 (dual core @3Ghz) AMD CPU.
60FPS during play, dipped to 59 once when entering the menu (that I read/noticed). CPU usage peaked at ~27% (From what I read from Process Explorer). No noticeable slowdown, played smoothly.
