yeah sorry about that... I was rushing to get a spot, cause it looked like 2 spots were open. And when i posted the 2nd comment, i had only read a few pages of the thread, and hadn't realized that it already started. I didn't want to miss out on one of the last 2 art spots.

Since the original post is misleading, I wonder how many people will volunteer when the compo is complete.
Great job, SundownKid.
Aglathan, are you ready to art?

Seeing the way this is going, I doubt there will be a fifth.

Ill make sure there is a Fifth if I have to run it myself! I think maybe the fifth should be a few mini comics even smaller than the 3rd and they would focus more on making sense with the previous page. Or maybe just a theme and people submit like 3 to 5 page comics and we assemble them together. I don't know but I dont think we should let the tradition die.

Agreed. I was hoping the fifth would be a choose-your-own-adventure comic. The disregard for continuity and development might be appropriate in that format.

Or it could be a series of vignettes.

ok ok im having to forfeit my participation i just started at a new job (my first actually) and i really cant seem to find the time to work in the comic, so i can do a bad job or do no job at all, and since there are like 5 people in the reserve team, i say let's give them a chance. Next time i will try harder.

People could be paired up in artist/writer teams, and make something short together!

Yeah thanks for letting us know now. It's not a problem to not participate but it sucks when we loose communication with people and it just wastes time. I actually like the idea of a choose your own adventure, not sure exactly how we could coordinate that. Any theme would be fine by me actually.

yeah im also a little confused on how that would work. i guess that once you do your page you could send it to 2 other people for each different choice.

I think that number 5 should be like those "turn-based comics", only on a larger scale. Instead of having writers and artists, it can just be passed along for a set number of panels (say, 20) and each artist gets to choose what happens next and draw it.
Or, to spice it up a bit, there could be an "alternate history" comic and each artist can draw two panels, one for each comic. The catch is that they both start with the same panel.

I like, though, how having both writers and artists on board lets people who are interested in writing comics, but not so good on the art side, get involved and have it look good in the end. Or just lets people focus more on the one aspect.
For a choose-your-own comic you would need an awful lot of writers and artists if every page is a branch, unless you had people working on more than one page.
A bunch of vignettes, each done by one writer/artist team would be pretty sweet.

Two other compo ideas:
1) Reverse Compo - written from end to beginning.
2) Rashomon Compo - multiple viewpoints of the same event.
