http://pitchfork.tv/week/reformat-the-planet/chapter-01

documentary about the chiptune scene, in particular the NYC/BLiP scene.

free to watch in its entirety until the 21st only.
great stuff!

which reminds me i REALLY need to get my ass to BLiP this year.
infact, everybody here who CAN make it, should.
let's make it GDC east. atleast, the indie-gathering-debaucherie-fest part of it.

Pretty cool. I found watching them intensely irritating, but the documentary as a whole was very interesting and I have always loved me some chiptunes.

Well, not always.

The first album I bought with my own money was Craig David's Born To Do It when I was 10.

Am I missing some mysterious link to the rest of the documentary?  I'm only seeing chapter one which, while interesting, wasn't particularly deep to my eyes.

Or this :

I really enjoyed watching it, and if I don't end up having an exam or something, I'm definitely going in December!

Saw the rest of it just there.  very cool indeed.  Musicwise, 'twas Bubblyfish, Coova, Bud Melvin, and Kplecraft I think that did it for me.  Will have to check them out more.

Yep, definitely a fan of coova.
