Useful linxxx:
fontstruct.com Make your own fonts
fontsquirrel.com Great free for commercial use fonts
dafont.com Tons of fonts, free and licensable, always read the readme
https://launchpad.net/glyphtracer Glyphtracer - a GPL font tool that can turn your handwriting/images into font, with help from a couple other little free programs

If you have more I'll put them in the OP

I also thought about going subpixel but then decided it'd be exactly like that picture - can't identify a single letter. With a width of 3 or even 2 it'd probably be way easier to read.

Small Tiny fonts on a high-res screen would be a nightmare to read! Waaagh! A bonus for big-pixeled games.

Btw Sajextryus, I am looking for a font with the same style as your minimal geometrically-based fonts. Ideally, I was sketching some letters out a while back, but it would be nice to find the closest match...

I've considered making my own font for the longest time since I do a lot of random hand-lettering for my projects. Nothing has actually come from that yet.  Undecided

But I've used a lot of fonts from http://losttype.com/. Notoriously hipster-y, but I'm a particular fan of Edmonsans, Mensch, and Duke.

Here is the Gimbal font, which is suitable for XNA games. Consider this image/font/art released to the public domain.

It's a basic pixel font, with some sultry curves, and it's 14px at its tallest. Not a complete character set, but it has worked for my needs.

In Visual Studio + XNA, import the PNG to the content folder, and then the sprite properties, set the Content Processor to "Sprite Font Texture - XNA Framework" to use it.

Have fun!

Made these little fonts yesterday. Interesting to see the other small fonts around.
