HI!
BTW I checked if there wasn't enough black people in informatics, they are confine in low paying contractor jobs, but there is enough to have visible representation in all company. Also black woman have the relatives highest rates of competence and the lowest rates of hiring.
Also a all white male team seems normal, but an all minority team is suspicious, try to get funding that way! And white are better connected to white anyway, and only hire black for "diversity" social capital (we are not racist so here is the lone friend) or for exoticism point (you gotta be the black that act black, or else what's the point? you are not suppose to be equally relatable human), and black want to get where the money and fame is, so they don't aggregate together for ambitious project (unless they are african (because they are use to be together) and amateur, therefore untainted with knowledge of the actual working of the culture in the industry).
If you are black and do something remotely exotic and interesting enough, white people will flock into your project as it's an easy differentiator for their career to stand out from the army of clone. Which has the same effect of diluting the lone black person too happy to have help. But in the end it will be reduce to bullet point to someones's resume because they will not stick like they stick together. Meanwhile working for minority together is hard, because there is a lesser pool (you have to compete with white to attract minority, there is more white with adequate resources or the illusion of it), because there is higher standard (life already difficult, they generally want to be paid upfront and avoid risk in general), and there is a general lack of confidence because lack of visible working model (unlike sports, music, etc ...).
Visible model is particularly important, because that's why there is an endless supply of white male of various quality, they are the one with the wealth of model they want to emulate, of course any model is artificial in some way, but the thing is that it create a bath of acceptable mediocrity that may or may not condensate in quality at some point. And it affect black people too because they identify that being white is the key model. Ultimately black don't want to be black (aka follow the model of blackness), they just want to be people and have being black on the same level of being brunette or blond, you don't create a team base on your hair colors, why base it on skin colors? Not all black engage in the visible cultural model of blackness (which really is constructed by white money, hence why thug and sports culture closely mirror white vision for black), they are their own person and like many thing, and the share struggle that makes their identity, racism and its social pressure, they don't want it at all. So it's lose lose for black.
And when other thing than white male become too prevalent, white culture start to become strangely and aggressively bitter for some reason, the more happy their story will be the less black there will be with one side token to save the face (lalaland) but the more gritty and bleak it becomes the more black start to pop up (zombie movies), you can know the bleakness of a movie by the number of struggling black there is (hunger games, despite the book describing the main as loosely black with olive skin). You will know they don't have a really diverse team (I mean diverse in position of decision) when the goto token is the bulky friendly ghetto black man with nappy hair (see mass effect andromeda, mafia 3, gears of war, lean black guy like Sazh is the exception), you will have hard time finding lovable nappy black women (the adorably frail shy happy black princess that everyone want to protect with natural hair) which is my yardstick metric to diversity. Also if you know your subject, black women aren't angry, they are showing distress, but they the darker they are the more they are tied to these role (12 years a slave, every historical movie in general, michonne in walking dead, the last of us). Why do people like black in subaltern position, confine to a role or in position of distress
The secret of black people is what they want is to be on the same standard than a brunette, no one is killed or priase for being a brunette in how they do their job.
The thing is that all of these can hold true without anyone above having the slightest racist intention, it's a system, and personal motive don't matter, we need actual conscious action to reverse the problem.
