Thinking of going, myself, but logistics are being threatening.
Is anyone else going?

I went last year and left unfulfilled. The current list of talks doesn't look so hot, but maybe it will turn out to be something delicious once they announce more. Have you checked out the list of talks at the Game Design Expo this year? I'm excited

I think it's silly that both of the North American GDC's are on the West Coast.

I agree. Those guys there will be partying hard day and night while everything is silent and quiet here on the East Coast. Eh. Oh well.

Ahem, there's a third North American GDC in the middle, guys (GDC Online/Austin, in October). But OK, it's not all the way right!

I'm in the same boat as POV on this one, but move my starting point five hours north and east!

On that, I never understood why more events weren't held in Chicago. It seems like the ideal location for anything going on in North America considering it's in the middle (of the united territories of the US and Canada) and every major European airport flies directly into O'Hare.

Depends on the distribution of developers. I'm sure there are plenty out East, but I only know of DICE. Besides, it probably has something with GDC being started in Chris Crawford's living room.

The Dice Conference? Because that's in Vegas.
On the East we have MIGS, which is great, but not super huge and is still trying to figure out where it stands, and apparently was missing all the indie developers last year. Or PAX East which just started.

I meant DICE, but I might have been wrong as far as their location goes.
