Happy 1st Day of Fall! Beer!

We plan to incorporate environmental effects into our game, such as turning of the color of leaves for fall or the burning of trees after a particularly destructive Fireball spell.

Here are sketches for upcoming Summoners Fate characters. The Giant Stag Beetle will be part of our Insectoid race, the Monk will be an exciting and versatile character, and the Angel Warrior will have flight ability.

We have many of our players' suggestions in the works as well - an Orc Huntress, an Oni, an Owl, a Pegasus, etc. They are looking great!  Gentleman

I am excited for this game. Most mobile games are shallow, but this seems to be a good thinking game optimized for the short duration mobile game players find convenient.

A sort of similar game I also loved was card Hunter. Though card hunter games took too long to play to really be truly casual.

Hey, thanks tlark! I've played Card Hunter - great game, but, yes, definitely too slow for a mobile session. Part of our focus is to keep the individual battles very short (<3 minutes) by stripping out all the excess overhead and leaving you with several "really cool" things you can do in the time you have. Since we'll also be on desktop, we've designed the levels so that each room will seamlessly slide over to the next, allowing you to explore a much larger area in a single session if you so choose.

We are going to have a work-for-hire music competition for Summoners Fate! Specifically, we are looking for a passionate composer to create an epic music track for our upcoming game trailer. This game trailer will be featured in our forthcoming Kickstarter campaign.

Making some progress on some more card border art. This card - likely called Elemental or Chaos, not sure - is coming along. What do you think so far?

Looks good! Personally, though, I'd like to see more of the gray stone. I love the red lighting on the rocks though! Also, that fire is SO much better. Give my compliments to your artist!

Thanks for the feedback, Ayrik! Indeed, still need to tune the colors a bit. We'll do another update that shows all the cards in context and with icons soon so you can start to see more how the CCG aspect ties in.

Been working on some rain FX!


For maximum effect, watch the YouTube with sound turned on:



This is my first time creating something like this. I learned that rain is much harder to make than snow. Great looking snow can be generated with a particle effects editor, but to get realistic rain, I needed to do some special programming to combine multiple FX including: setting the angle and rotation of the drops, creating a mini particle system for the splash, a custom animation for the ripple, and a custom animation plus some lighting tweaks to get the thunder and lightning.

Taking some great advice from our community, I've made some enhancements to our dungeon atmosphere by layering multiple particle fx together to create the ragged orange torch flames and shimmering and shining treasure chests. It's my hope that these FX add to the atmosphere and your enjoyment playing the game.
