I spent months making this sim

Mirrored just in case newgrounds doesn't like it, they're usually the type to enjoy shorter score-based arcade-style neon-shooter type games:

I disagree. The sound effects still need some work.

Being deaf and having blind friend, I don't feel too excited. But that is okay, you lot can have your practical jokes.

However, it is far from being realistic. A person who is both blind and deaf still uses other senses - touch, smell and balance (sense of orientation). I find none of those in this game.

Ever tried walking to your bed in complete darkness? A whole new world opens up to you.

For those wondering who the hell Helen Keller is and whether she actually lived like portrayed in the game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Keller

Ah, yes, senses so capably represented by the medium.

Ah, yes, senses so capably represented by the medium.

Be honest, has anyone apart from hearing/sight impaired ever tried representing the extraneous senses on the medium?

Psst... Braille was blind.

The man be dissin' on us, bro.

Yeah, I get that, and I think it's perfectly reasonable for you to be considerably less than appreciative of the joke. Still, nearly all humour is at someone's expense. I'm sure you've laughed at jokes before which would be offensive to somebody else.

That said, I didn't find this particularly amusing or clever.

Be honest, has anyone apart from hearing/sight impaired ever tried representing the extraneous senses on the medium?

I have no idea whatsoever Wink The fact remains, though, that videogames, as far as feedback goes, are an almost entirely visual and audial medium, with the notable exception of tactile peripherals such as rumble packs. Most attempts at rendering scent, for example, have just taken the form of a visual metaphor, such as the coloured trails you saw in Twilight Princess. I'm sure you can appreciate that anything of that sort wouldn't really have gone well in GlaielGamer's joke (and, of course, rumble packs tend not to be accessible to Flash applications).

The game is pretty good, but could you provide an option to tone down the graphics quality? Maybe in one of the sub-menus?

Maybe it's just that I have an old computer, but it ran super-slow for me.

Why is it 4.3 MB? Is there something I'm not getting here, apart from a black screen with no audio? (yes, I get the joke)

I think the file size is to fool people into thinking there will actually be a game to play. It would have been better with even more misleading build-up, IMHO: some kind of awesome preloader, a Play button, then a "3...2...1...Go!" countdown.
