Yes, this is a serious question. I put up a game this weekend for the FlashPunk game compo and most of the feedback I get is "they look more like balls than butts"... YES THIS IS A SERIOUS QUESTION. They are supposed to be butt-detectives, not ballsacks. This is causing me a lot of grief. I am unsure how to rectify it. Here's the game and a screenshot preview for the lazy: Play Game Here: http://fpgc.aberustudios.com/games/15Any ideas? To me they seem pretty 'butt-like' but like 9/10 people do not seem to think so. The other thing is I really wanted to allow for variations in the shapes, short squat butts, tall skinny butts, etc...

The main feature of buttocks is that they connect to the body, making them less spherical than what you created. Testicules, however, are much rounder due to the fact that they are not attached but rather contained. The lines you placed under the eyes, the complete seperation of the two halves of the characters and the little focus on the legs makes them look like testicules. The complete circles that form the two sides of teh characters make them look like a sphere rather than a rounded shape (like the buttocks). If you want to rectify the design, I'd suggest the following: - Do not finish the middle line to show a "connection", much like how buttocks are connected to the body
- Put a focus on the connection of the cheeks to the legs
This will give the following: It should help your design stand out better I hope this helps a bit!

Well I rushed to blast out this update. Had a gas doing it, too. I'm quite convinced this new Guert-inspired design conveys a rump rather well, but I am open to rebuttals.

I can't figure out a good way to do Squirmy's eyes (the clean-shaven, taller buttguy.) Putting the outline under them makes it look strange. Maybe I should just take them off Twitch's eyes too. Suggestions welcome!
Dangit.. I thought I was being so original. Oh well, Twitch and Squirmy are more 1950s detective style, not so much modern rambo rogue cop.
