OS is looking solid.

I don't have the cash for one at the moment, but I definitely want to pick one up, especially if it doubles as a devkit (still hoping).

nintendo switch is the underdog, 6 games it's useless, 20+ game later, okay might be cool

Every single nintendo console since the gamecube has promised the return of broad 3rd party support. Not even the wii achieved it, despite its 50 trillion sold units.

It just depends of what audience Nintendo are aiming for. For example Ubisoft sold so many millions of just dance for Wii. The casual audience was there... we got tons of casual games from 3rd party support. I think its very unlikely that Switch will have many Western AAA support unless there are  audience for those games for Switch? It depends of Nintend. Personally I expect that Switch will get  many Japanese 3rd party support along with tons of indies.

ya but the casual audience has shifted to phones. the wii happened to fill a niche at the time and nintendo made the mistake of relying on the (nonexistent) brand loyalty of casual gamers.

3Ds has sold more than 65m which was overpriced + it had bad launch titles.. There are still big audience for handheld market. I think that is the reason why they made hybrid.

Switch is handheld too. They are making all their games on Switch.  Dedicated handheld is Plan B if Switch fail.

IIRC Wii U's devkit cost 5,000$

But yeah, I have to agree 1-2 Switch seems really fun, but not 60€ fun.
