ow mang, slicing meshes is awesome, why isn't that in more games? Also: can't you like generate a face where the mesh is cut? I know it sounds very complex but it's not very pretty seing invisible parts in the middle

Impressive tech! How is the gameplay going to work? Players chop eachother up like watermelons?

Yeah, that's the next and somewhat more complicated part. I'm getting some stuff working already though.

Looking good Ivan! If you actually pull this off it will be awesome. I've been wanting to see a decent Bushido Blade style fighter for a long time. Yeah, that's the next and somewhat more complicated part. I'm getting some stuff working already though.
I hate dealing with geometry so I'd probably do something cheesy with clip planes and the stencil buffer.

METAL GEAR!? </snake voice> When I first saw that watermelon video whenever it was released, I was impressed. Now you're doing the same thing (kinda) in an indie-game competition, so I'm even more impressed! The youtube video didn't let me down, and I wouldn't be surprised if you did win. Keep it up, and more importantly: more screens and videos!!

pfft you call that a sword? Silly straight-edges subdivision. I have a deadly Banach-Tarski blade. Let me demonstrate it on this panda: before slicing: after slicing: Far more impressive. Hope you're having fun, though!

It looks like this is coming together nicely. I'm looking forward to chopping lots of stuff. Chop, chop.

Yeah, that's the next and somewhat more complicated part. I'm getting some stuff working already though. Maybe you don't need to create a real face, maybe you can just generate a few blobby decals to mask the void

You can turn off avatars from your profile page. That's what I do.

I can see it now... Super Cooking Adventure!"Chopping vegtables has never been this fun!"Featuring: - Real-time knife physics including 9 sizes and styles!
- 51 variations of herbs and spices!
- 18 beautiful kitchen vistas!
- Real granite counter tops!
- An open world of culinary exploration!*
* Food not for human consumption. Also: This is really interesting from a technical standpoint. When you figure out how you're going to generate the geometry for the new faces (assuming that's what you do) we'd love to hear how you do it!

I have no idea if this is allowed or if your making your own models or what but i love this and would like to let you use my ninja model if you so wish. Not the greatest uv's in the world but they work, HERE it is. I can also release the texture for you if use like, let me know.
