Its ridiculous to get angry about mod developers charging for their mods.
If someone creates something and wants to sell it then its awesome that they can sell their own content easily. If setting a price tag destroys the culture and community of mods, then it wasn't a very strong culture to begin with.
The price tag won't destroy the culture and community, but it will make the industry much more likely to exploit it.
On another note,
Possible Far Cry 4 spoilers ahead...So, in Far Cry 4 if you do as Pagan Min says at the very beginning of the game and wait at the table for him, for around 15 minutes, it triggers an alternate ending (basically causing you to beat the game in 20 minutes) which throws into question a lot of the things you would otherwise be doing if you didn't wait at the table and escaped like the game makes you assume you are supposed to.
There are a lot of other little Easter eggs like that throughout the game, for example in when you are "supposed" to kill certain notable characters (the game even puts your gun out setting you up for it) if you wait 30 seconds your character will instead tell them to leave and never come back.
All throughout the game the game points to you killing Pagan Min in the final act, which you can do, but you can also wait and trigger a different and more illuminating end, at which point the game makes you think you are letting Pagan Min go but you can abruptly change your mind and without any prompting gun him down anyways.
More games really need to take this route (and push it further). It's not huge decision making going on, it is very subtle decision making most players won't even realize they can make. It makes taking a moment to decide rather acting on impulse feel much more rewarding.
I triggered the 15 minute wait ending this morning, thus just about wrapping up my time with the game. I've beat the game a few times over now and I am working my way through the Yeti DLC. It is a pretty awesome game, even despite essentially being Far Cry 3 with a new paint job. It's story won't win any awards any time soon I am sure, but it was pretty enjoyable regardless and had some interesting characters.
Okay, you're safe now...
