Thanks for the feedback guys! Ooh MM gummies could be cool but a quick search online and I couldn't really find any places that do that sort of thing. So far I'm thinking the merch will just be a t-shirt and an MM papercraft printed on a postcard. I'd love to do more but I really just want to focus on the game itself, and when I get closer to the release date I can think about extra little merchandises to go on the website. I don't expect to profit from any of it but I understand that some people like that extra stuff. Maybe I'll do a teespring campaign later with a bunch more tshirt designs.

Update: I feel bad for not updating the devlog, but all I'm doing is lots of writing and editting and stuff for the KS. So here's a screenshot of some of the KS page, boring but an update nonetheless. Smiley




And I know I'm stirring up some flames but..

Yee, Sol(omon) is a Magic Mollusc.

With regards to the art style, I need to both push it further design-wise and make creatures and things more strange and alien and vibrantly coloured, but also reel it in by keeping things to a restricted palette and maintaining style across the designs. How far that goes really just depends on whether my KS is successful and whether I can find a talented artist to work with or not.

Update: Current proj description, and a possible KS project image I worked on today.

On a nocturnal planet a curious magic mollusc crafts a moon man from lunar beams. That happy green man's purpose is to find seven moon fragments and restore light to the world.

I want to like it and it does look nice but I feel like it doesn't truly capture moonman. Some of the recent screenshots you've shown would do a better job at selling the game in my opinion.

saw you were looking for some critique for the promo image on twitter. here are some thoughts i had on polishing it:

- the moon is the same color as mm and draws my attention toward the snail
- the characters might look better if they were blended into the environment with some ambient lighting from the moon
- the background could be darker
- the drop shadow on the text is alright. could blend it into the scene by making it wrap around the moon a bit. shrinking the edges as it goes back into the distance would help too
- not a fan of the jagged edges or pure white of the text
- the quality and detail level of the snail and moon are much higher than mm. kind of jarring to me
- there are two detailed holes behind the text. might be better to move those to the bottom or remove them completely. they're just adding noise atm

i haven't posted in this thread in forever, but the game is looking amazing
