Week Twenty - Last week! Deep in the throws of the 12 days of Xmas, I continued to post one game each day up until last Tuesday! Hurray! 12 games in only 2 weeks!
Week Twenty One - This week! Since I've managed 12 games in 2 weeks, I decided to take it easy, somewhat, this week. I've used most of this week to grow accustomed to using BlitzMax as opposed to Blitz3D.
I've taken the time to build a nice new entire Framework that my games can exist in, and am currently up to the "What will all the titlescreens look like" part of my new framework building.
Plenty more to do, but it's getting there. I also now have the option to build in Linux (Ubuntu installed, and raring to go) and also on Mac. .. Although I'd need to build a Mac to let me do that, and I'm in no monetary position to do it. So.. Those'll just all have to wait!!
Next week, I'll be back to normal, and building my first game in BlitzMax!
Hurray!!

(*classic Jayenkai game!) Centipong 2 : Gentler, Calmer, Crazier Nice and easy. Hit the ball against the centipedes, keep the pods flying, and smash up as much as you can. Weeeeee!! Bouncy!!! Works for me in Ubuntu. Fun idea!
The fullscreen option didn't work, and nor did alt-F4 or the window's close button to quit. Minor things though.

Yeah, fullscreen's being a git in linux, not really sure how to solve that! Glad to know it at least half-works, though!

Week Twenty SixToday is my 30th birthday. I've wasted about 20 years making piddly little games, and am in no rush to quit doing it now! This week, two parts, sort of lazily, but also very much a complicated task! Box's Adventure, Part TwoI've expanded last week's game by a boatload, adding new features all over the place. You can read all about that here. and Jay's BlitzMax FrameworkIf you're not too scared of 1980's style programming, and already use BlitzMax to get things done, here's the basic framework that I'll be using in the immediate future. It is very old-skool coding, although it does give you a little insight into my coding style. Be very afraid!

Week Thirty SixTen weeks later, and a whole lot of fun-stuff has happened. First, I spent a month doing little Mario themed games for MAR.10. You can view these in this thread. There's four of 'em, and they're all equally as fun as each other. If March was about Mario, then April had to be Platdude's month. Taking one single game and spanning a series of gradual releases over the course of the month, I was able to come up with a lovely big Platdude game. That one's over here. With two themed months gone, it's time to get back into the regular weekly random junkpile of oddball games. Hurray! Gravity BombsShoot the gravity holes with bombs, so they go Kablooweee, and shoot all the little bits that go all swirly and whooshy! weee!!! Downloadable here.

Week Thirty SevenLast week I bought WarioWare DIY, ( friend code here) and one of my first minigames was a little UFO flying across the screen and dodging a couple of spikes. I then wondered what that might turn out like if I redid it properly. UFO 246Blimey!! Downloadable for Win+Lin here.

Week Thirty EightIt's MacWeek over at AGameAWeek, meaning I finally took the plunge and bought myself one of those little MacMiniDoohickeys. I'm now in a position whereby all three systems (Win/Lin/Mac) have annoyingly different keyboard combinations, and I cannot for the life of me get the mouse speed the same on any of them! God, that's frustrating!! MacWeekNo new game this week, but I have uploaded TEN of the games that I've made in BlitzMax, recompiled especially for Mac. (Although they're Intel only, I'm afraid!) I also updated JNKPlat, which now has over 130 levels, and Gravity Bombs, which feels a little more like a game, but even more like a big swirly artsy thing! 10 Brand spanking new freeware games for Mac!

Week Thirty NineLast week, I made a penis game!!! Week FourtyThis week, I made a game that turned out a bit rubbish. But it's Amiga themed.. Does that help? Boing AgainGuide the Boing ball to collect all the ticks, whilst avoiding itself. A nice idea that went kinda dull somewhere. Bah. Grabbable from The Jay Archive for Win, Lin and Mac..
