It would be nice to have a round-up of ludum dare games; there are some good ones in the mix. Johann Peitz, Chevy Ray, Xion, Notch, and thecatemites all did neat stuff, and I'm sure there are more I haven't found yet (there are ~600 entries).

The End of Us really deserves a feature; I heard about it by chance. I wrote a guest article but it's no skin off my nose if you write a shorter one yourself.

Maldita Castilla is the new Locomalito game. Inspired by Ghousts N' Goblins. The demo is pretty amazing.

There's nothing incredibly fancy about this game. It's just a very well executed iOS platformer in the Game Boy / Super Mario Land style.

Legend of GrimrockAn old-school dungeon crawling RPG in the style of classics like Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder or Ultima Underworld with modern graphics and interface. Hi and welcome to the Legend of Grimrock blog! This blog is about the development of a new awesome indie dungeon crawling game.
We’ll talk about the game in more detail in upcoming weeks while we’re working on it, but to whet your appetite down below is a teaser concept art by our very own talented Juho. This image is not just a gorgeous piece of art but I think it nails down what this game is all about: pure oldschool dungeon exploration, mindblowing puzzles and intense atmosphere in the spirit of classics like Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Ultima Underworld and Arx Fatalis. These games were our favorites when we were kids and to me Dungeon Master is still one of the best games ever made. So our goal is to transfer the spirit of these old masterpieces and combine them with today’s technologies, gameplay innovations and graphics to bring them to this day.
But that’s enough for now. Stay tuned! ScreenshotsWallpaperWallpaper with smaller logo

Supporter access to Farbs' Captain Forever series went on sale for a bit under half-price, and Captain Jameson's sector-roaming station-saving gameplay is getting to a really great place.

Qasir Al-Wasat by Aduge StudioA stealth action-adventure game set in 12th century Syria where you control an invisible being. It's invisible but it can be heard or covered in liquids or particles. Pretty cool trailer:

BeretBeret is a freeware platformer by Kiwisauce (Nigel Kilmer), sprinkled with a equal amount of action and puzzle each, which revolves around the character being able to telekinetically move objects within a fixed circle around him as long as it remains in that circle. The moment the object leaves the circle, you lose control of it. You can fling objects out of your circle to get it a bit farther. You can take control of blocks and enemies and even certain collectibles. The game seems to take influence from games like Crystal Towers 2, Cactus McCoy 1&2 and Wario Land: Shake It. Just like those games, each stage has a number of goals you can reach to get an object (in this case, a medallion). There are 6 medallions in each stage and the requirements are the same in every stage.
