Im looking for ideas on how to draw spaceships for a 2d shump

any ideas?

You can get some surprisingly inspiring designs from messing with Conway's Game of Life.

For instance, I got all of these patterns from starting with that first arrow-like pattern on the very bottom-left.

Sparky made a neat program that kind of generates spaceships for glorious trainwrecks a bit ago --

basically it's just random triangles reflected horizontally for bilateral symmetry, and you can shoot ones you don't like and it'll replace it by randomly permuting one of the ones you didn't shoot.

I find just sketching out shapes and flipping them to be pretty much the best method.

Really anything that resembles an aerodynamic jet of some kind, it doesn't event really have to look like a jet at all.

There is also alchemy if you want to go with the Non-pixel art route.
