Hm, I dont really see anything out of the ordinary, but the place you're specifically talking about is when the mp3 file starts to play.  I'm not sure if audio codecs have anything to do with it...

Here's a version without music.  See if you can play that one.  Although, the music is one of my favorite parts...

The musicless version works on my system.  I can play MP3s in my usual player and in Windows Media Player, so I don't really have any ideas about what the root problem is.

Do you have any codecs installed on your machine?  Like ffdshow or the combined community codec pack?  I think it just might be the way that game maker natively plays mp3's, which is really bad.  The only reason depict1 uses the native mp3 playing is because I made it using Game Maker 8, which apparently doesn't support any of the great sound .dll files 7 does.

I do use ffdshow, however WMP is not using it when I play an MP3.  The properties in WMP for an MP3 just say the audio codec is "MPEG Audio Layer-3" and the ffdshow audio tray icon doesn't show up. If I open a video I know will use ffdshow, it says "ffdshow audio decoder" and the tray icon appears.

I don't recall installing any MP3-related codecs, but I might have other codecs, like maybe for AAC.

Yeah, I honestly have no idea what could be up, but I expected at least one person to have problems with the way that GM natively plays mp3 files, so I guess you are the lucky winner.

If the audio .dll files get updated for GM8, I'll put out a new version that should resolve it, but unfortunately that all depends on the authors of the .dll files.

Did this ever get posted on the front page?  It deserves more attention than it looks like it's getting.

If you feel so inclined you could write your own review or article about it and submit it, I think.  Gentleman

I think you'll find out through these two topics:

It's so available in your browser now! (:

You can play it on Bored.com here: http://www.bored.com/game/play/150904/Depict1.html

The music issue is now gone, a continue feature is added, and a couple of other minor issues are fixed.

It won't let me play it on firefox. The yawn animation plays and then it stops at "Your game will begin, shortly" but never does. Works on chrome.

hm I think it's due to adblock plus. it's the only add-on I have installed for firefox.
