I've be a closet game-maker for quite some time, and I'd like to hang out with people who won't shun me for programming of my own free will. Are there any game jams in Europe I should know about? I'm in the North of Italy this year, and I'll probably be back in the South of France next year.

Thanks  Gentleman

Yeah, I just found the GGJ site: anybody interested in either Munich or Verona? I don't speak much German but pretty much all Germans can speak English Smiley

Coolness  :D

For me it's only an hour away, I just didn't think there was much of an indie gaming scene in Italy. Seems like there's a sizeable community though  Smiley

Speaking to the same person in two languages is making my brain ache Addicted I seem to be the only person signed up on the GGJ page, though I'm sure there are plenty of others on the main page. Vincenzo wrote to me to confirm that I was signed-up. Good practice for my Italian: never heard "sebbene" or "mica" before (what's wrong with "non"?)

Really excited about this Grin I won't be able to working on "Bugger!" though, so maybe I should learn some Pygame/Love in preparation. You don't write a game in C/C++ in 48 hours  Huh?

Or I could do graphics... lol  Roll Eyes

Hi guys!

We are currently planning a Game Contest (on the Game Jam model: 48h)in Valence, a city in the South of France. I will post every information about the contest this week. Right now we only have a flyer in french, but I will translate everything in the coming days.

Here is an (english) blog post about the event : http://oneliferemains.com/blog/2010/12/rent-a-french-best-friend-and-come-to-the-arcade-game-contest/

You can PM me if you are impatient and want more information.  Wink

Reviving the thread to ask around: are there other game jams in the next weeks/month?
The GGJ2011 is just over, BIGjam is far, so is No More Sweden, TIGjam seems to have ended recently... next one?
