I propose that the artists program while the programmers do graphics.

Isn't that what Indie Games are all about anyway? Code written by people who can't program and graphics made by people who can't draw? Big Laff

let's keep things on topic, eh?

klik n play is quite unsuited to this, I would have thought; graphics and audio importing is rather difficult/awkward indeed in KnP.

This actually sounds kinda cool.

I would imagine the art for the coders should be as generic as possible, even just a block labeled "CHAR A" so that it's up to the artist to figure out what it's supposed to be (maybe?)

I think the ambiguity of the the initial assets is what's going to make both comps interesting.

I think this is a great idea! Smiley

I'd love to see a game with maps generated from ascii (that can be adjusted), ascii text, and placeholder images. I can imagine from pretty creative remixes of a game, even if they have the same criteria (find the object on the map, for example).

I'll try to whip something up for this as it sounds fun.  For flash how do people suggest loading from an external file?  Would it be easier for artists to just supply the whole .fla or to load in .png files or what?

Also, is there anywhere we can start a thread for our code once we have it going?

Yeah, I think focusing on using PNG files would be best.

Dammit, I didn't make it yesturday... fallen asleep.

I will have to finish today, and according tomy calculations, I should be able to finish before the deadline. Stay tuned.

Btw, it's a platformer thingy (every compo has to have these, right?)
