I've been working mostly on the core of the game engine, making some tilesets. I finally made things work on the game engine.
I'm working again on the game itself. So I hope to have some stuff (screens and gameplay gifs) to show soon.
I will describe the gameplayIt will be an action battle system (ABS), like Zelda games.
I will focus more on action gameplay than on stats. That is the reason the characters will have only health points (those hearts like in Zelda).
There will be items you can use to equip your character. So, instead of stats to improve attack, defense, or anything else, you can use items. They will be very "plot-wise". By that I mean they will not be randomly placed on the map or dropped by enemies.
This game is turning it something more Earthbound-like than I expectedI decided the gane will not be placed only on your neighborhood. But now the characters will wander through different cities and places. I hope people like that.
Enemy spawnThere will be areas where you will find enemies appearing and areas where there will have no enemies. I'm working on the Ai to make the enemies stay mostly on these areas.
!!!You can switch characters!!!Heve you ever played Secret of Evermore? That game where you can switch between the guy and his dog? Fun game, I recommend. On Ghouls in the Neighborhood you will be able to switch between the characters, play with them and use their unique abilities. The characters that you are not playing with will follow you and act by themselves (fight enemies).
