Oh, I'm definitely entering 2010. I would've entered this year's but I don't feel comfortable with what I have right now. I'll finally showoff "Nadine", what I've been talking about all this time, there.  Gentleman

2010 - whoa, I've got no idea what I'll be doing at that stage. Probably working some dull office job somewhere to pay off my debts Shocked

Since they haven't got one for IGF I think that's out of the question. Trailer, however, is very much doable, and shouldbe done. Now.
I disagree.

They want to make it uber awesome, and an awesome trailer also needs awesome timing and awesome music.

If they got all that ready, I agree with you, but as they worked hard on GETTING SOMETHING DONE, I doubt it  Sad

I'm not sure about making a trailer... we have enough material at this point to throw together a really interesting one, but I'm kinda reluctant to do it when there's still so much left to do.

I mean, we were really serious about putting together a trailer after the PGC contest, and I'm so glad we didn't because it looks and feels like a completely different game at this stage. Apart from the main character, the graphics from the screenshots we showed back then aren't even in the game anymore. What we have now is probably a lot more final, but there are still lots of things that are liable to change - when we go back to it we're probably going to rework the controls and camera, for example, which will probably make the final game feel quite different to how it is now.

So, yeah, for that reason I'm not sure a trailer is a good idea. Also, we've kept the main gameplay mechanic a secret this long so it would be kind of a shame to spoil it before we get closer to a release Smiley

Carefully chosen screenshots that don't give anything away are a different story though! We'll probably start a new thread on the art board about it soon...

Aye, we were initially going to submit ArcMagi this year, but decided against it in the end.
It's not a game where you can try to polish the gameplay, make one level and say: "the rest is similar, only there's more content". Here the content pretty much equals the gameplay and I didn't want to sumbit a dismembered cripple of a game and hope the judges will see the potential. Next year it is.

Beer! Cheers to everyone who missed this year and are going to make the next IGF awesome.  Beer!

I'll probably try to enter sometime.

Maybe with my next project. Doubt I'll actually be physically present though.

Do you HAVE to be physically present?

The FTP is being extra ornery this year. If you're having connection troubles email us at [email protected] -- we can take bits from you in some other way and get them onto the FTP for the judges...

I didn't mean for so much innuendo to creep in there.  *clicks post*

Well, I entered a revised version of "I Wish I were the Moon".

I was really hot on a new game, but I know I need a couple of months to sort it out the way I want it. Next time, I guess.

Well, I submitted something too and I'm hoping that something will become a better something with a little time...

Also, I agree that xerus that it's about time IGF moves on up with some fancy uploaders.

I dreamt last night that I still had 14 hours left to enter. I could probably launch my game by then, so I woke up totally buzzed and ready to get it out the door. Then I realized it's Monday Sad

Shouldn't someone start a "I DID enter something for IGF"-thread, or is it just me that is deadly curious?   Tongue
