One of earlier indie communities, Osiris Games (developers behind indie titles such as Chart Wars, GameBiz and Bestseller), which I am affiliated with, is organizing game competition.

Theme: Make a game which simulates some aspect of reality.
Who can enter Anyone.
Time-frame: March 1 - April 19th
Where? Here

It's not necessarily about "simulation" or "tycoon" games. Jason Rohrer's art works, for example, are fulfilling theme criteria.
