I currently have a small open source project online at Project Kenai, but the site is closing down soon. So I need somewhere else to host it. I've never used any others and so far I'm torn between Sourceforge or Google Code. What do people here use and what would you recommend?

Definitely Google code. SF IMO is a bloated mess.

Google Code it is then.

And I agree it's a shame about Project Kenai. It was a really well made site.

I'm using BitBucket.org for one of my current projects. It's not bad except if you don't like mercurial.

The plot thickens, yesterday Project Kenai did a mail out saying it's not closing. It's actually being merged with Java.net and projects will be moved there.

Very annoying because they said quite clearly a week ago that all projects will be removed within 60 days.

For free commercial svn hosting, I've used ProjectLocker without any problems.

It gives you svn, git, Trac, support for up to 5 users and a 500mb limit, all for free.  Not bad.

yeah. the jxta crew did just migrate to kenai, then they searched for a new host and now there is a very uncertain situation. i personally have only a small project at kenai which i only uploaded there to test kenai...
