Working on action adventure game with mah bro.. I just hope it does not turns be like Super metroid. 99% game mechanism needs to be original.. Maybe the 1% should be inspired by Super metroid map design.. Prototype monster for testing purpose.. 4 frames... This sprites does not need to be perfect.. not yet.. Unused tiles and background..

So I'm trying to learn pixel art, very slowly. I'm a programmer normally and as such have almost zero artistic talent. I thought I'd try learning by doing a Bob Ross-style landscape, in a pixel-art style. I followed directly along with one of his videos, trying to translate what he was saying to work in a different medium. Advice on how to get a sky that doesn't suck would be greatly appreciated! Psh...zero artistic talent he says. Be bold fellow artistic programmer, guy! You have the skills.

you should probably remove shadow from it, because it looks like torn carpet. Also make it less bright and saturated because there may be problem with sprites. Also im not a fan of black outline that separates wall, maybe vertical wall should be slightly darker.

Some of you may be familiar with h3h3productions, I was bored so I made this. Theres some weird shading/lack of shading on the hat but I didnt spend much time on it.
