Anybody in to moe stuff absolutely NEEDS to watch School Days. It's really something.
(NO SPOILERS!)
DBZ was funny up through Snake Way, Goku's rebirth, and the Ginyu Force. But then after that - and especially once they brought in the Super Saiyan stuff... it all just kinda went to fluff. It lost it's humor and charm after that, and reminded me simply of a schoolyard brawl more than anything. Although there was a spot where the planet Namek was 5 minutes from being destroyed, and it STILL took them an entire 4 episodes to escape. That's the wrong kind of funny, and don't even get me started on how ___ that Fusion crap was. When the hell did Goku and Vegeta become a couple?!
Fucking Touhou music!! Now I'm humming Bad Apple!, Dark Clock, and the Pachouli Knowledge and Super Marisa Boss themes from MegaMari.

It help they have NO stylistic difference in theme they cover or in level of undergroundness like western art. Which allow a weird situation where cross pollination create mainstream pervert work with good production value and yet sensitive theme mixed for the fun. Also the uniformity of style make it easy to lump them together (it's NOT for children) |
