Hello, everybody!
I am not new in Design nor even in Development. But this is my first attempt to make a Game.
It's not like I have a great idea or something like this. I just want to start studying this kinda thing.
So, I am ready for
suggestions and
tips.
If you have a crazy idea for my game/study, please tell me. I am here to learn.
I've created a Trello public board to organize any ideas that might come up.
You can upvote them if you like or see my progress.
Trello Board
The idea:- I am not interested in training my design skills for now. I need, foremost, to understand the architecture of a game.
- This game is going to be a tribute to all games, movies and musics that I love.
- My objective is not make money with this project. So I am thinking in upload my progress to Github. What do you guys think?
The Plataform:I am going to develop this game in Java. The first library that came to mind was
Slick2D. Why Slick2D? It was the most simple library that I could
find and it is perfect for what I need for now. No
cheating on the development. I am going to develop everything that I might need.
The Game:The game is mainly inspired by this awesome video:
SOLUS on VIMEO:http://vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks/112361221The Soundtrack:I am looking forward to use soundtracks from my favorites masterpieces.
Tron, Heavy Rain and The Last of Us are my main choices.
What do I have?Firstly, a bunch of classes hahaha
One thing that I am addicted to is applying OOP to whatever I am going to develop.
Aaaand, this:
[ screenshots and gif's included ]What is next?Tomorrow I am going to implement a changing background and a possibility to add Planets to this background.
A View is something that is missing in my toolbox. I might develop something like that too.
Oh. What do you guys think: Should I upload every step or just once a Week or something like that?
Should I upload my progress in github? Is someone interested in my code?
Thank you very much.
See you soon.
PS: I tried to by as short as I could... I failed...
