Our awesome adventure game Excruciating Guitar Voyage is now available on Impulse!
OMG IT IS HERE: http://impulsedriven.com/egv

For those who don't know:
Excruciating Guitar Voyage is a platform-puzzle-adventure game. You play as PX, a surprisingly invincible hairy moron, who can set himself on fire and electrocute himself to solve puzzles (as well solving puzzles through the more traditional lever presses, inventory items, and conversation trees)
EGV combines traditional point'n'click style puzzles with platform gameplay. There are a bunch of interesting characters to meet and bizarre scenarios to end up in.

OH AND:
  • Set yourself on fire and electrocute yourself to solve puzzles
  • Talk to a cast of fully voiced, quirky characters
  • Part platformer, part adventure game
  • Star in the TV quiz show "Win Some Coal" and see a coal-loving TV host have a breakdown live on air
  • Ride minecarts, dodge lasers and take down a huge sky-fortress!

They have a developers area on their website - where you can register your business, and submit your games.. so, we did that. They got in touch with me (having played the game), and were very easy to work with.

Yup, it is XNA. There were no problems with this at all - and it includes the XNA & .NET redist installers, if you don't already have XNA/.NET installed.

Just out of curiosity, did you have an weird compatibility issues to deal with?

My Xbox Indie game Antipole works fine on every PC I could find, but there are a few (which seem to only be owned by IGF judges) where the keyboard handling doesn't work right. For those few people, once they press an arrow key, my game usually doesn't detect the release. They just get stuck running in the direction they were headed until they hit an obstacle, which makes the game completely unplayable for them.

we didn't find any problems like that..
i found that i couldn't get the keyboard state on separate threads, only the "main" thread (e.g. coming off of the Update call they give you...) - but other than that i don't know of any problems/gotchas with XNA's keyboard handling... and maybe make sure you're only polling it once per frame? instead of every time you're doing a check..
