Hey all,
Games Journo Story is a kinda-RPG about an aspiring games journalist. No swords, magic or silly clothes. Maybe some silly clothes. It's a very short game (20-30mins) with a precise story. You can get it here (
http://brendycaldwell.wordpress.com/games-journo-story/) or from RPGMaker.net (
http://rpgmaker.net/games/2877/)
I'll just be really lazy and rude and copy the blurb from RPGMaker.net.
"
You are Arthur McStension. You want to be a great games journalist one day. The trouble is: so does everyone else.
Join Arthur and his antagonistic music-loving friend Tom O’Bedlam as they travel to The London in a bid to impress many infamous editors of the games media. Will they succeed? No.
Features:
- Both good and bad alcoholic beverages.
- Stylistic decisions. Review games by wild swearing, thoughtful analysis or other!
- Multiple endings (two!) and a special secret third one maybe.
- A reference to Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Intellectual!
- The death of one (non-essential) character.
- Creative and liberal use of the Cutout filter in Photoshop.
- A soundtrack featuring Captain Kennedy and Blackbeard’s Tea Party.
"
Don't judge me! (Well, do) Yeah, it's made in RPGMaker and it doesn't look like much but as I have no programming knowledge it was the best I could do. As much as possible I tried to use original ideas and some original artwork. The emphasis is on writing and music. The soundtrack is provided by two local bands Captain Kennedy, from Northern Ireland and Blackbeard's Tea Party, from Yorkshire. If anything, I hope you play the game just to check out the music.
Thanks,
Brendy
