I'm announcing a classic 4X strategy game set in a fantasy environment. It's been in open beta testing for a long time so we've had plenty of time to balance units and make it a great multiplayer experience. We are very communicative with our player community so there is a lot of going back and fourth with them when designing new features.
One of the latest features we worked on is a real time sync using HTML 5s websockets. It's pretty cool, we can push data in real time between players allowing for simultaneous turns. Players can have intense games where you see every move from your enemy.
We have a map editor integrated with the game and one of the popular things to do is to take a well known fantasy series and create a map from that world. Here are three maps created by our users. Can you see which books they are from?
