I think there should be a thread that lists all of the boxes and usernames of people who named them. That way we can see everyone's different art styles and such. We would message the creator of the thread our box, and they would put it on the list next to our name.
You'd probably have to make it since I don't see anyone else willing to. I'm all for the idea though. As long as crates are allowed too. |

So I was bored this weekend and decided to minify one of my iPhone screens. Here's what I got. Each icon is 13x13. The screen itself is 10x smaller than the iPhone screen (retina). This was fun! I would love to see a more skilled spriter than myself attempt this. I'm still learning and still growing. (2x):  (1x):  You can play the icon guessing game, if you want. The icons are: (from left to right, top to bottom)
Canabalt, Jetpack Joyride, Hard Lines, Pac-Man
ASYNC Corp., The Last Rocket, Sword & Sworcery, Super Crate Box
Puzzlejuice, SpellTower, Dungeon Raid, Radballs
Chunks, Piyo Blocks 2, Word Fu, The Blocks Cometh
PCalc, Clear, TaskPaper, Read It LaterIf someone wants me to upload the original iPhone screenshot for comparison, I'd be happy to; I just didn't want to upload a huge image and cause loading problems for people. These are my favorite iOS games. Many of them are also indie games (not a coincidence). Feedback is very much appreciated. I am aware that some icons are better than others. Some are also more difficult than others. Tips and advice would help a lot. I've only been working at spriting for a few weeks and need to improve! Also I have no idea how to anti-alias; is there a really solid tutorial on it somewhere? |
