No. If you wanna post here you either have to like the game, or dislike it because you feel it's not true to the original games.

Got the special edition   Beer!

I only got to play for an hour and a half but I really like it so far. Bethesda seemed to pack up all of Oblivions bugs in a nice suitcase to send Fallout on its way though.

I was talking to an NPC and someone walked right between us so i spent the conversation talking to the side of someone elses head. And there's a classroom bit where it won't start until everyone is seated so I actually had to go and seat an NPC for myself to keep her from just standing there waiting for the bus or something.

The charm is there and in tact. The character creation is your life from baby to toddler or so (The way you set your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points is absolutely genius). I don't know what they did differently but there is the standard "You are growing up, this is your friend, this is your rival" sort of deal but it felt more believable here. When the time came for meaningful interaction that should be based on the culmination of your relationship with these archetypes, the feeling was there, and it was good.

Hope to hit some more of it tonight. My poor competition entry is suffering Sad

Amazon says the game will be out tomorrow at my place. On Steam it'll be another two weeks.

Don't disappoint me Amazon!

Say what you will about the idea of the game being Oblivion, but with guns, it should run much faster without all that bloody grass to render.

The thing I dislike about Fallout 3 is that they didn't fix their damn facial expressions. From what I see from videos people still look like the nukes were made out of pure botox.

Otherwise it looks pretty interesting.

I've been playin it for a short while, and it's great. Didn't do much quest or anything but what I did was good, and the combat is awesome.

That's true. For moments it doesn't looks that bad, but it's specially awful with some characters.

Yeah, I was hoping that they would rectify the 'ol vacant Oblivion faces. Oh well, I guess facial animations aren't Bethesda's strong point.

I do have high expectations for this game though and hope that Bethesda did the series justice. Now if the game would only play on my computer. Hell, I probably can't even play it on low settings Cry

Psh. I buy the Collectors Edition, and the first thing I get when popping in the DVD is "Please insert an original copy of the game."

Gotta love when copy protection works.

Glad it worked for real on the second try Lips Sealed

Played a little more.

The same gripes are there with oblivion's rigid and unimaginative characters. I'm already sick of the phrase "Oblivion with guns". I admit it's not dissimilar to oblivion but if you go in thinking that is what it is, that is what you will perceive. I love fallout and I love TES series. But not once did I consider these games related in any way beyond publisher.

The hacking minigame(?) is well though out. You fly through some terminal code and are presented with a long garbled string of unformatted computer code. You can make out a few words in the mess and those are your passwords. From there it's a game of mastermind with 3 chances. If you're wrong, it will tell you how many letter were right and you keep going.

Also, what kind of cruel joke is a giant fire ant that actually spits fire
