For this project I'm doing, I need some kind of physics engine. All I really need is detection and reaction of collisions for rectangular objects (in 3D space and at any rotation)

Is there a library out there I can use, or a decent tutorial? Even an explanation would be a great help.

Oh, and it does need to be able to properly handle objects moving at very high speeds.

I would recommend Bullet.  It's a fast (fast enough to run on an iPhone), free, lightweight C++ library for 3d rigid body physics.

The download should come with a bunch of different example demos with source code.  Here's the API reference
