Every month I host a get-together of game industry people here in New York City.  If you're a local, please come!  Details are crossposted below from the New York IGDA forum:

NYC IGDA Drink Night!

Date: Thursday, November 13th
Time: 7pm
Place: No Idea Bar (info here)

For those not in-the-know, the Drink Night is an informal get-together of game industry folks in the NYC area. Whether you've been working in the biz for years, a newbie to the field, or anywhere in between; all are welcome. We've been having these events for two years now and they are always great fun.

We usually meet in the back room. Look for me (Dave). I'll be the guy wearing a "Wadjet Eye Games" cap.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Probably not.  I don't bother with a Drink Night in December because of the annual IGDA christmas party, where there's always lots of drinking!  Not sure when that'll be, but you can subscribe to the mailing list and you'll get an email when it's announced (along with any other game biz event in NYC).

I live in Paterson NJ, so it only takes about half an hour to reach NYC by bus, so I may show up at one of these. But -- I don't drink, so I'd probably just drag it down, since it's at a bar.

It's mostly a networking thing.  Come and drink soda!  Lots of New Jersey folk come as well.

Hi all!  Rather than start a new thread, I just updated the original post.  The next NYC IGDA drink night is Thursday, November 13th!  Hope to see some of you there.
