I type fast (1000-page manuscript within one winter) and can read a 1000-page book within a matter of hours, yet I can't manage to keep everything (social sites, forums etc.) updated. It has to do with attention span, I guess. Earlier I've cancelled my Twitter account as well as Netlog profile, so that I can focus my attention elsewhere.
I just need to tune down on forum trolling a bit and I'll be in the heaven.

i'm not saying it's possible to keep up with everything, just that it's perfectly possible to finish games and also blog and twitter regularly (as long as it's not an insane amount -- i typically post 1-2 livejournal entries a day and 3-5 twitter posts a day)

i use it to give project updates, request resources and mobilize volunteers. when i had a personal account, i thought it was the lamest thing ever. but now that ive found a practical use for it, its been great.
to me, technology like this is a means and not an ends

I use twitter because I have many important things to tell the world, and I have to use every possible communication device to reach a maximum amount of recipients.

I have one at http://twitter.com/BananattackI am still fairly reserved about how often I post there. But that is progressively changing.

I like Twitter's brief format of entries. I wouldn't have the time to maintain a full blog or to update my website with every thing I do. But on the other hand, I feel that I need to give people a way to track development of my stuff. Twitter seems like a nice compromise.

ugh, twitter is a great idea but it's being ruined by spam; they should really use capchas or something
i once heard that twitter doubles its number of users *monthly* -- that sounded unbelievable until you realize that bots reproduce faster than humans
