I hear that a lot, but to be honest studio is only terrible if you're use to using 8.1 and lower. You can't miss what you never knew of in the first place.

How exactly is GM:Studio awful? 8.0 And below were much slower and had less features, and were windows-only. That sucks. (I've been around since around GM 5-6 era)
Being able to *really* compile your code in studio w/ LLVM, plus one-codebase-multiple-targets-building makes it a powerful tool. I used to hate working in GM (not being able to use interfaces, no namespace control or visibility modifiers, no easy way to unit test...), but since studio it's actually a great tool that makes it worth dealing with all the other stuff that the CS student inside of me hates.
Additionally: You can write shaders in studio. Couldn't do that in 8.0...
Studio will also have a full debugger with GDB-like step-throughs soon, and a rewritten IDE that hopefully isn't so damn slow at rendering code. The future looks even brighter!
It's just silly that you can say it's worse than 8.0... I'm confused.
EDIT: (Apologies for off-topic'ing)

just to give you a frame of reference, xion's catacomb kids ran at 20 fps (on his laptop) while on gm8. but when he ported the project over to gm studio, it shot up to the high 40s (capped at 50 fps). so there.

A coworker and friend made a mock up for Grabitty. It's my current project. I like the mock up a lot, really.

1 - bro dnt b lyk dat, hlp me 2 - ah need ur hlp n a wpn 3 - u wot m8?>4 - i swer to christ ill hook u in da gabber m8, were is the swrd That actually sounds neat, giving the player a time limit to reply to npc's that's so fast they always get stuck with a shitty answer. It's actually his health bar growing for a boss fight, I want the gui of the game to consist of interfaces from old graphics software. Of course it wont directly be ripping off Graphics Gale, I'll draw my own that look similar. Carrion; that blur filter isn't doing you much good.

You just don't understand the graphic capabilities of the mode-bird chipset ultaquaFX9. Really though, Not a blur filter, the entire point of this game is to experiment with AA and shaders. All of the AA is done pixel by pixel in MS Paint and from there it's selectively animated by a moving alpha layer. i'll post animations soon. It's mainly a joke about my art either having no anti aliasing at all or too much to look appealing.
