Stuff, stuff and, not enemies...
Wow, I still haven't added any more enemies?
What in the world could I have been doing all week?
Well, I've been working on making this an actual game rather than a tech demo/coding practice.
What that means is I've been doing stuff I can't really show with GIFs and images, but I have been making HUGE progress.
1. Speed optimization
Even on my old(ish) PC, it's been running 60fps without any dips, and with some scripts, this preforms ALOT better than most GM8 games.
2. Code optimization
Making the code take up less space frees some cpu time for more fancy particle effects!
3. Button controlled menu
This may sound lame, but this is my first time making a button controlled menu, so it took a day and a half.
4. Level design for the beta testers
Yes, I am making a whole separate game world (metroidvaina levels = lots 'a work) for the select few I'll use to screen EVERYTHING in the game, but since I don't want them to get stuff other people might pay for for free, the option I have left is to make the whole game twice. The first time smaller; and with feedback, the second will be the finished product (and hopefully a lot bigger!).
