Coldfall Online is an online horror sidescroller

---
Work with your team mates through various tasks to get certain objectives up and running to eventually allow a train
to pick you up and take you out of the radioactive, barren and infested town known as Coldfall. Play multiple
different types of gamemodes online or play solo in a single player story mode.

Planned/Main Features:
  • Ease of use of connecting online with strangers or friends
  • Activation of traps by a Saboteur
  • Mini side quests
  • Lots of places to explore within the town
  • Multiple weapons to utilize
  • AI zombies
  • Other possible game modes

how far into the project are you? what shaders were you testing? so many questions Tongue
maybe you should consider using pixel art for your title-text too, it looks pretty out of place Wink
the tree-screen has good atmosphere Waaagh!

Oh it looks out of place? And thanks!

Any recommended fonts for the title-text?

Though in general, I also don't tend to like when different styles are used, similarly to another game that has a mix of pixel and non-pixel based graphics elements: Tower of Samsara: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=51745.0  I personally like the font.  At least in that image.  It might be different in other images.

When it comes to opinions, that's why companies do focus groups and various surveys before product launch to get an idea of what *many* people think as everyone has their preference. So I'd say if your target audience likes it, then that's the most important thing. Smiley  If they don't then you can consider changing.

Been a while since I posted on this. Not much has been done on the game since I was working on my other one on Steam currently.
Updated my first post with new logo and screenshots.

Here's some screens of the WIP menu:

Love the look of this although I think you need to change the characters foreground leg. It looks broken or like he's constantly standing in a super hero pose and it's now all I can look at.

Hmm I'll think about what I can do about that leg.
Also here's some new screens, I changed the lighting:

I've made it so you can go in buildings now. Only thing left to do regarding buildings is getting elevators to work in one of them. I'm thinking about adding another apartment building as well that's currently blocked off.

It's awesome to see you back! I didn't post when you initially made the thread, but the idea of online OR solo is always a joy for me. Makes me think of Diablo!

Keep up the great work; looking good!

This is amazing! It struck a particular cord with me because I once wanted to make an almost identical game. The art and aesthetics are very impressive but networking is no less a challenge in my experience. How are you handling the netcode?

We're handling it via P2P connection.

We're still thinking about having players host their own dedicated servers though.
