This is really quite spectacular so far.  I also love the little monster animation.  He's ADORABLE!

Thanks!  This one's for you then...  Well, hello there!

I'm not a huge achievement whore, but this kind of puzzle game can benefit a lot from them.  Not sure how much effort that would be for you.  I just remember in Eets you can get achievements for basically using less than the expected number of parts, so there would be a lot of encouragement to find unexpected solutions to levels (which kind of depends on playtesters finding these solutions so you don't have an impossible number, of course).

well designed and very satisfying results.
i think the only thing that needs work right now is the sounds.
some cartoonish sounds and music would pretty much round it out.
what i like about the puzzles is that even if you mess up you get a load of knight gore. helps defer the sense of failure.

===============================
UPDATE - April 11th, 2009
===============================

Download Current Build: http://www.shengames.com/pc/dstp/dontsavetheprincess.zip

Updates in this version:
- Illustrated a new Title Screen
- Music / BG sound FX
- In Editor mode, pressing 1-4 will bring up the corresponding piece instead of having to go to the bottom and clicking.  A bug that occurs is if you press 1-4 multiple times, the items get stacked and you can't lay them down.  Pressing the right mouse button will delete them and fix itself.

Updates for next version:
- Not... really sure... people have suggested new sound FX?  I'll look into it, but I do like SFXR's "free" aspect.

edit 5:

/after a halfhour irritation (making map, posting here, seeing a huge flaw, rinse repeat *3 ) I'll just keep at it this:
http://suiraclaw.googlepages.com/Suira1.lvl (edit, fixed)
(edit: outdated)

It should have needed 2 more send tiles (you should use 22 now of the 26 gives ones), but this version is as good as it gets tonight.

Hey, that's a neat level!  I'm sure in the process of making it you started getting that feeling of, "man, making these things is harder than I thought."

I solved the puzzle, but used a considerably smaller number of tiles than provided.  I'm not sure if you feel like going back and editing the level some more, but I've posted the solution for you to see.  (http://www.shengames.com/pc/dstp/customlevels/colourblind_solution.jpg)

I realized that there's a bug in the sound where the Main Title sound continues to play through a custom level.  Will have to fix that in the next update!

-_-

Yup, it's harder than I thought to make those. I'll fix that one, again. Here it is : http://suiraclaw.googlepages.com/Suira1_final.lvl

Hopefully this one is better: http://suiraclaw.googlepages.com/Suira2_final.lvl (completely different concept)

It's a lot more simple for me to try and test to prevent other paths, but I may still have missed one. It should be pretty difficult though.

Fun little game although I found it a little annoying having to go all the way back to the taskbar to replace my markers, maybe having it so you can just drag and drop them around or when you right click them it appears as if you've selected it from the taskbar.

Also the game crashed on me when I completed level 9 :s
