Elijah Wood will be voicing Spyro in the new Spyro game, and it's coming soon. That's just the tip of the iceberg, too. Gary Oldman and Mark Hamilton will also be doing voice-acting. That's pretty seriously impressive. Why didn't I hear about this earlier? I think we may actually be playing a good Spyro game come November. I am so ready to be psyched for this game. I just hope they don't mess it up like they have for the last... well, every Spyro game after the third. The Spyro trilogy (I refuse to acknowledge the later installments) was one of my greater time-sinks on the Playstation. I can't wait to play this, even if it'll only be to immediately dismiss it and throw it onto the fire with all the others. Those are some pretty good-looking cut-scenes, though.

Ooh, I loved the music in at least one of the first three.
But I'm terribly afraid of it becoming completely flipped upside-down in all the wrong places like other Playstation-era game series (i.e. Crash Bandicoot).
EDIT: The cutscenes do look pretty, though.

Wood has been doing Spyro's voice for the last two or three installments. They both sucked. Oh yeah, notice that he hasn't done anything else lately.

i must admit that i facepalmed a bit when i first saw the trailer. im over exaggerating, but it kinda like theyre taking lord of the rings and pasting their characters over the fellowships faces. there are differences. but still. its lotr. i like it that theyre trying to make their game more substantive, i donno... even destuctoid agrees with me: http://www.destructoid.com/trailer-for-lord-of-the-ri-er-i-mean-the-legend-of-spyro-dawn-of-the-dragon-107267.phtmli feel like i can match every scene in the trailer to a scene in lotr. things can be epicly awesome without being awesomely epic. anyway, the gameplay and design could still be great

Yeah, I've never played a Spyro game I really liked with the exception of Eternal Night for the Gameboy Advance. Spyro always seemed a bit boring to me for some reason.

Wow, I never realized that the Spyro series took itself that seriously, crazy.

Well, I wish ... "Sierra Entertainment" would start taking it more seriously.
The reason I made this thread was because I really want this game series to start being good again. The other easy comparison is Sonic, but I have never trusted that series since it moved into 3D. Spyro is a franchise that's still technically in the same medium it was in when it was first conceived (it was 3D, it's still 3D), so I think it has a much better chance than Sonic for being redeemed.
Also, that last panel is hilarious, Don Andy :D

No, I'm looking forward to this. I LOVED the older Spyro games for the PSX (1-3) and I haven't actually tried any of the others, except the GBA ones, in fear of being disappointed.

Never really finished a Spyro game, but this looks interesting. Elijah Wood kinda sucks at being Spyro.

You obviously missed his appearance on the psychedelic kids show Yo Gabba Gabba. Now if you mean he hasn't done anything worth while, why should he when LotR made him filthy rich?

Yeah, he's probably been more of a hobbyist recently, just doing voice-acting for the things that he feels like. He's probably in no hurry to get yet another diamond plated swimming pool.
