 Someone in Namco has a few screws loose. Apparently Namco Bandai is looking into redesigning Klonoa and is conducting a survey on the matter in advance of the american release of the Door to Phantomile Wii remake. My opinion? What the fucking hell are they thinking? They wanna take away his cap and his ears. Those are his most iconic features! I wanna know where can I do this survey. |

I don't think it looks that bad. Looking at it as someone who hasn't ever heard of this game before, I'd say the better picture is the second one.

I am, too, outraged about this plan of theirs.
It may be a case of "You changed it now it sucks" but the fact is the ears are part of what made Klonoa Klonoa.

Oh, and even though I highly disapprove of changing the ears/hat, I like the new outfit. Same general outfit as before, but with a bit more detail to it.

How could they take away the pac-man cap  ? I think the new one is a horribly generic attempt to revitalize the character, and as can be expected looks horribly generic. Better than the Musashi redesign, atleast. |

Well, the old character looks like they tried to attach two giant leeks to the sides of his face. At least the new ears don't look like giant vegetables.

I like the second one better, but because there has been one already established, the change is too much for me. I'd take the new clothing design on the old Klanoa though.

Never played it either, but yeah, that new one doesn't sit well well with me. Why bother changing it anyway? Improve the detail sure (like the much nicer clothes), but why change the character design? Plus, this being a remake (right?), why would you want to mess too much with the original? The old one looks more timid and nice, and the new one looks more...badass. And there just shouldn't be badass "cute" characters, Japan just doesn't seem to get this key fact (and I guess neither do the new Spyro devs).

Was he cross-eyed in the original? It is a really odd design. I think they should have changed it more though, and just made him a space marine.
