I'm taking a class on Caribbean film right now, and the professor gave us the freedom to make just about any type of final project we wanted to. Of course, I made a game.

The game puts the player in control of ICAIC, the state-controlled Cuban film institute. You have the freedom to determine which films are shown and which films are censored. Your decisions will play a large role in what happens to the future of the island. There are 12 different possible endings.

Download it here.

The game still needs a bit of polish. If you have any suggestions, please give them to me as soon as possible since the project is due in a few hours.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I wanted to make a game that teaches through mechanics rather than pure narration, and I think I accomplished that.

Did the revolution result in a dictatorship or a democracy?

Also, how long did it take to play?

Democracy.

Not sure about the play time. Maybe 5 minutes?

I don't think I caused any political upheaval, got some message about promoting tolerance - also had around 5-6 minutes.

I liked it - analyzing (unfamiliar) film descriptions to see whether or not they'd be acceptable or not was a cool experience.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I decided to try something different here, so I really had no idea how it would turn out.  Smiley

Nice work and much more enjoyable than I expected. I'd like to see some expansion of the synopses to indicate the potential effect of the films. I think I saw a few sentences which were grammatically strange.

That's probably the result of writing the descriptions at 3 in the morning. I have a few hours left to proof read.
